AFX Creative & True Gent Send Filmmaker Amy Schromm to Commercial Directing Bootcamp

AFX Creative & True Gent have hand-picked photographer/filmmaker Amy Schromm as recipient of the Filmmaker Diversity Award, sending Amy to Commercial Directing Bootcamp on April 5, 2025, in Los Angeles.
"Motion has always been my passion. I feel completely in my element when I’m leading the crew as a director. My journey started on the agency side for brands Panera, Dr Pepper, and Anheuser Busch, before I transitioned into freelancing. As I dive deeper into directing, this opportunity comes at the perfect time. I’m beyond excited to attend the Bootcamp and take my directing career to the next level,” said Schromm.
Since 2015, the Filmmaker Diversity Award aims to break barriers by offering diverse voices access to top-tier industry training. Recipients gain invaluable insights into launching and managing their career in commercial directing, guided by industry veteran Jordan Brady. Many alumni go on to sign with production houses and direct major campaigns.
Mark Leiss, Managing Director, AFX, has collaborated with Brady on numerous Toyota jobs, often joining Brady on set. Co-sponsoring the award was a natural extension of their working relationship.
“We love the interesting perspectives that diverse voices bring to the industry. It’s part of our company’s ethos. We’re always happy to help.” – Mark Leiss, Managing Director, AFX
“Our current government has abandoned DEI, but we stand firm in helping underrepresented voices, one filmmaker at a time.” – Jordan Brady, True Gent / Commercial Directing Film School
