Bandit Editorial Signs Editor Dahkil Hausif

New York City-based editorial shop BANDIT has signed Editor Dahkil Hausif to its roster of creative talent. Hausif brings over 20 years of experience to Bandit, having worked on brands like ESPN, Beats by Dre, Champs Sports, Mastercard, Ulta and more.

A griot at heart, Hausif brings a deep reverence for storytelling to his new role at Bandit. Inspired early on by Professor Micere Mugo at Syracuse University — who challenged him to tell his own story through a narrative lens — he has since built a career rooted in authenticity, community, and creative exploration. From his beginnings as a runner at Mad River Post, to over a decade at Spot Welders, to most recently serving as a Senior Editor at NO6, his path has been shaped by adaptability, collaboration, and a drive to empower voices often left unheard.

A self-proclaimed military brat who moved every few years — from Guam to Illinois to Japan — Hausif, from an early age, learned to see the same stories told differently depending on where he stood. As a co-founder of Men at Work Healing and a trained sociocracy consultant, he approaches the edit room as a space where ideas flow freely and the process is as intentional as the final cut. “There’s a people-focused community and culture here,” he says of joining Bandit. “They embraced me the minute I walked in. It’s a return to craft — to storytelling with meaning, to having fun, and putting story into content in a way that protects and elevates the work.”

When speaking of adding Hausif to the team, Executive Producer Laura Relovsky notes, “I’ve known Dahkil for years and was lucky to work with him in the past.  I honestly can’t say enough about his creativity, artistry and work ethic, which is matched only by his stellar personality and aura. He is going to be an incredible complement to Bandit’s talented roster and team. He shares our philosophy and ethos and we couldn’t be more excited to start our collaboration.”
