Brazen Animation Celebrates its 10th Anniversary

Brazen Animation, a Clio Award-winning studio founded by industry veterans from Disney, Blue Sky, Sony, and Reel FX, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. “Ten years ago, we set out on a journey fueled by a passion for storytelling, a love for the craft, and a desire to create something special,” said CEO Bryan Engram. Based in Texas, Brazen is renowned for its work in video game cinematics, feature film pre-production, and marketing assets. Specializing in high-quality 2D and 3D animation, Brazen seamlessly blends these techniques to push the boundaries of animation and creative storytelling while inspiring people to pursue greatness.

Before founding Brazen Animation in 2014, Bryan Engram served as a director of studio animation, animation director, and supervisor for films and theme park experiences, including Disney’s The Wild, Everyone’s Hero, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Open Season 2 & 3, Looney Tunes theatrically released shorts, The Simpsons Ride, and Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem. Since its establishment, Brazen has solidified its position as a trusted partner in the animation industry. With a relentless commitment to excellence, creativity, and innovation, the company has collaborated with Warner Brothers, DreamWorks, Amazon MGM, Electronic Arts, Blizzard, and Epic Games, among others. Notably, Brazen’s work with Wizards of the Coast on Magic: The Gathering’s Bloomburrow earned the studio a Clio Award and NYX Grand Game Award.

"Our success at Brazen Animation is thanks to our clients, talented crew, and partners," said Head of Business Development Brock Starkweather. "We look forward to strengthening these relationships, seizing new opportunities, and continuing to elevate our work for our clients."

In their first decade, Brazen released their self-funded CG teaser for their property Tempest marking their entrance into development. Brazen won the Angel Studios torch award after receiving the highest audience score for their teaser and secured a distribution deal for the project. In recent years Brazen boosted their team with key additions, including Greg Rizzi (Founding member The Third Floor), Josh Lee (Former Cocomelon), Bill Haller (Director SCOOB! Holiday Haunt), Chris Osbrink (prior Writer/Director at ShadowMachine/Blur), and Brock Starkweather (Former Ubisoft). The company continues to be a creative incubator for internal projects aligning with their mission to tell transcendent stories. “We have an incredibly talented team of artists here, it’s inspiring,” added Chris Osbrink, Head of Creative.

In 2024, Brazen welcomed back Jasmine Johnson to the company as Executive Vice President. Jasmine was Head of Production at Brazen early on when the company was formed in 2014, helping set up culture, core values, and workflows.  Most recently, Johnson served as Senior Director of Creative and Production, Cocomelon at Moonbug Entertainment, where she managed one of the largest preschool properties globally.  Prior to Moonbug, she held key leadership positions as Head of Studio at Stoopid Buddy Stoodios (Robot Chicken, SuperMansion) and as an Original Animated Features Production Executive at Netflix. "From the beginning, our aim has been to 'be so good they can't ignore you.' We are guided by deeply rooted values and a clear mission and purpose. At Brazen, we're here to tell stories that resonate with people—a principle that remains at the heart of what we do as we move forward with both client collaborations and our own intellectual properties," said Jasmine Johnson, Executive Vice President.

“We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved over the past ten years,” said Bryan Engram, CEO/CCO of Brazen Animation. “This milestone is a testament to the grit, passion, and excellence of our team. For us, success lies in the ability to touch the depths of people's hearts and souls. We strive to inspire and resonate with individuals on a profound and deep level, leaving a lasting impression.”
