“Love the Meeting” is a nine-spot comedy campaign for Plaud AI, the AI note-taking company, created with TwentyThree and Company and produced by Executive Producers Drew DeGennaro and Renee Krumweide. The campaign lands days after Plaud was named to TIME’s product of the year list.
Directed by Lee Einhorn from creative by ECDs Paul Foulkes and Craig Mangan, the campaign drops Plaud’s wearable AI note-taker into an office where everyone has, improbably, fallen in love with meetings.
Shot in a single day in Chicago, the campaign spans five :30s and four :15s, with a cast drawn from the city’s improv community to keep the comedy loose, quick and lived-in.
Behind the work is a small team with a long history. Einhorn and Foulkes worked as a close creative partnership from the scripts through to set, alongside Plaud’s brand team, Lee Mincy, Director, Brand Creative, and David Hamidzadah, Head of Marketing, Americas, who was on set for the shoot. With Drew and Renee running production and a nimble group on every side, client included, the shoot moved quickly and stayed focused on the work.
Einhorn came up as an agency creative, leading REI’s Cannes Titanium Grand Prix-winning #OptOutside and the Truth anti-tobacco campaign, and brings that experience straight into production. On Plaud, that meant a director who speaks the language of the agency and the client as fluently as the language of the set, and who draws natural, grounded performances out of his cast.
Lee Einhorn commented:
“Getting to work with Paul again made this one special. We’re friends and former colleagues, so there’s a shorthand and trust that let us get straight to the fun part: finding the right tone and making the scripts come to life. We cast from Chicago’s improv scene and gave the performers room to riff. The scripts were our starting point, but some of the best moments came from letting the actors play and discover something unexpected.”
Paul Foulkes, ECD at TwentyThree and Company, said:
“I love working with directors who are ex-creatives and know the agency side of things. Lee gets it. He knows how to work with clients, knows when to go over and talk to them, and knows how to communicate with me and with everyone on the production side. On a job like this, one client not feeling heard can send the whole thing sideways. There was none of that here. It was a lean, nimble team, the client was every bit as nimble, and they really encouraged us to do our thing.”
Lee Mincy, Director, Brand Creative at Plaud AI, said:
“We came in expecting three spots and left with six. That’s working with Lee Einhorn. Lee has an instinct for humor that pulls authentic, unscripted moments out of every actor—all day long. It was raining humor and we left with so many options for the edit. That, and the great collaboration, super planning, and friendly team, made shooting with Lee, Paul, and Tanya just an epic shoot day.”
Executive Producer Drew DeGennaro added:
“Lee has been a huge asset for us since we started working together. He comes from the creative side and brings that agency experience into production. He knows the business, knows how to work with clients, and knows where to give and where to push. Plaud was a small group of people who’d worked together for years coming together around a brand-new AI company, and the work speaks for itself. We’re proud of every one of these spots.”
