New Directors Join Cordillera Collective in Toronto

Cordillera Collective is thrilled to announce the addition of two exceptional talents to the Cordillera Collective team: Francisco Paparella and Nicolás Bori! As directors, their unique creative visions have already captured the attention of the global film and advertising scenes, and it will be exciting to see how they shape the future of the collective.
Nicolás Bori loves storytelling, sometimes to make you laugh, sometimes to make you connect emotionally with its characters. In any case he loves practical challenges on his films and using visual tools to enhance a story. He has a soft spot for projects with relevant social messages, and loves thinking creatively to make big things on tight budgets.
Nicolas first got a business degree in Maastricht before he realized he could make a living out of his real interest, storytelling and films. He went all in, quit his job at Google and left Ireland with a camera and camping tent. After crossing Africa on a truck from Capetown to Cairo he made a short film about it and decided to take the next step. He learnt German and applied at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg as a commercial director. He has been working across Europe directing films ever since.
Amongst the many awards he´s been honored with recently are the Young Director Award and Best new talent at Cíclope for his work on his latest spot for SAS, “Breaking glass”.
Francisco Paparella is a multi-awarded Director, Writer & Producer in the cinema and advertising industry. His style primarily focuses on powerful visual storytelling, excelling in automotive, narrative, sports, and lifestyle genres, yet he possesses the versatility to adapt to any genre.
His talent has been recognized in international festivals and awards. On the advertising front, his work has earned him two 2018 Bronze Cannes Lions in the Craft category for Casting and Original Music for "Save the Children / Survivors" as well as a Bronze Film Lion at Cannes 2024 and a Gold Direction award at the One Show Awards 2024 for "The Stories That Killed Us", which tells the stories of slain journalists.
In the feature film space, “Three Brothers” premiered at the 37th Mar del Plata Film Festival, winning the Special Jury Prize and Best Film at the 45th Moscow Film Festival.
Together, Francisco and Nicolás represent the future of Cordillera Collective, and we are confident that their distinct voices will elevate our creative vision to new heights. Their work speaks for itself, and the Collective cannot wait to see the exciting projects ahead.
