Simian Launches Substantial Reel Creator Improvements
Latest Simian updates greatly improve functionality and usability of packaged reels
Simian, the showreel-building, review & approval, and production asset management platform used globally by creative leaders, is continuing its Simian 2025 line of features and updates with a significant number of improvements to its reel creator. The most recent of these focus on creating packaged reels, which allow users to present more than one reel at a time.
“Building packaged reels is more straightforward than ever,” says Jay Brooks, Simian’s Chief Technology Officer. “Users no longer need to leave the reel creator in order to access their complete reel library. Clicking the new “Add Existing Reel” button displays all of your finished reels to the left of the reel creator, and any reel can be added to a package on the fly. It’s a lot faster, and much easier to use than before.”
Simian’s Chief Operating Officer, Brian Atton further explains how the feature has been streamlined, “Previously, packaged reels would need to be created with one empty reel included by default. This reel could be removed, but was still unnecessary as some users prefer to make packages exclusively with reels they have already built. Now, packaged reels can be started entirely from scratch.”
Simian’s line of 2025 updates began in February with the launch of the platform’s overhauled website, along with teasers for new features pertaining to reels, review & approval, and media management.
