Work Editorial Signs Lucian Barnard for UK & US Representation

Work Editorial adds Lucian Barnard to its roster of award-winning post-production talent. Working across commercials and features, Lucian is known for constructing seamless moments of connection with his cinematic sleight of hand and kinetic cuts.

Lucian began his career editing movies and documentaries but was drawn to the samurai-like discipline and methodology of editing commercials and other short-form films. His editorial precision makes for high-energy films that are unrelentingly fun and evoke a rich sense of environment. Lucian’s hypersensitivity to a film's pace, rhythm, texture, and tone creates specific stories that amplify a director and writer’s vision and further refine every movie and commercial he edits.

Lucian was awarded the Golden Horn for Best Achievement in Editing of a Feature Film at the SAFTAs (South African Film and Television Awards) for his work cutting the suspense drama “Griekwastad,” which dramatized the true story of an infamous crime in the small country town. He also edited the Netflix thriller “I Am All Girls” and Moritz Mohr’s action-packed “Boy Kills World” starring Bill Skarsgård, produced by the legendary Sam Raimi and distributed by Lionsgate. Google Chrome called upon Lucian’s musical sensibilities to edit the Clio award-winning spot featuring racer Lando Norris and rappers Lil Yachty and Busta Rhymes rapping as fast as an F1 engine. Other commercial campaigns he’s edited include Gymshark, Pringles, Nivea Men, Honda, Asics, and Levi’s, among many others.

“Being accepted into the ranks of editors I have admired for quite some time feels amazing,” remarks Lucian. “Work Editorial operates from a truthful, caring, kind, and positive space. Upon meeting the entire team, I remember feeling as if I was walking into a large family gathering. This, to me, is the most important quality of Work Editorial. Not only that, but they are the best of the best. I’m excited to get started!”

Jane Dilworth, founding partner of Work Editorial, adds, “Lucian’s work is fantastic, incredibly skillful with such an infectious energy that lifts your spirits. He’s also a delight to work with and an extraordinary talent. We’re very lucky to have him with us at Work Editorial.”
