AIR Celebrates Winners of the Inaugaral "Spot in a Pocket" Showcase
The Alliance of Independent Representatives (AIR) proudly hosted the inaugural Spot in a Pocket! Challenge Showcase on Tuesday, October 14, spotlighting standout creative work produced entirely on smartphones.
Open to anyone with a smartphone and a spark of creativity, the competition invited participants to craft 30-second spots in any style or genre using one of four prompts: Healthcare / Thermometer, Finance / Wallet, Sports / Whistle, and Household / Mop.
Entries were evaluated for storytelling, art direction, and production value by a panel of distinguished judges:

- Donald O’Connor, Executive Producer, Compulsive Pictures
- Chinkhara Singh, Head of Production, Area 23
AIR was thrilled with the creativity and response from the community.
Grand Prize Winner: Courtney Marsh for “Life of a Thermometer” - An Oscar-nominated filmmaker and UCLA School of Film & Television alum, Marsh’s commercial work seamlessly blends vérité documentary style, talk-to-camera PSAs, and sharp, unexpected comedy.
Prizes for the Grand Prize Winner include:
- A six-month subscription to Agency Source
- An interview with Simian’s Howler
- An article via AIR’s subscription to LBB
- A consultation with a member of AIR
- A Master Class courtesy of Friend of AIR Jordan Brady
