Caviar Gives Owen Wilson a Spanish Language Leg Up in Telemundo Super Bowl Ad
Sofia Vergara gives Owen Wilson real-world Spanish lessons in a surprise Super Bowl spot out of Telemundo, produced by Caviar and directed by roster directors Jason Woliner and Alan Yang. From the Telemundo in-house marketing team, Red Bee, the ad sees Vergara giving Wilson a four-month Spanish crash course ahead of a surprise gig as a fútbol announcer on the channel in a surprise twist.
Telemundo expanded its Super Bowl coverage further than ever before in 2026, with wall-to-wall programming spanning Telemundo, Universo, and Peacock, Telemundo Deportes Ahora Live from San Francisco. Thanks to a half-time show led by recent Album of the Year Grammy winner Bad Bunny, advertisers have leaned into the buzzy interest in brushing up on Spanish with a wink-nod, making Telemundo the perfect partner to lead the charge.
For their part, directors Jason Woliner and Alan Yang combine forces as film and television directing phenoms, fusing entertainment acumen with their star-studded commercial directing portfolio. Woliner directed the smash hit comedy Borat Subsequent Movie Film (2020), which the New York Times called 2020’s “Best Film of the Year.” In television, he directed episodes of Peacock’s The Paper, a spin off the original hit show for Peacock, as well as episodes for What We Do In The Shadows, The Last Man on Earth, Nathan For You, and Parks and Recreation, among other series. He revisits language-learning from his work on Duolingo’s 2024 “Duo on Ice” campaign, which helped name Duolingo as Brand of the Year during the 2024 Ad Age Creativity Awards.
Alan is the Emmy Award-winning co-creator of Master of None, starring Aziz Ansari. He is also known for his exceptional work as a writer, director, and producer on Parks and Recreation and as a consulting producer on The Good Place. His series Loot, starring Maya Rudolph, premiered on Apple TV+ in 2022. Alan also produced the 2025 film Good Fortune, starring Keanu Reeves, Keke Palmer, and Seth Rogan.
