Chris Walker Joins Union Editorial New York Roster
Award-winning editor Chris Walker has officially joined the Union Editorial roster. The move further strengthens the long-standing relationship between Union and Marshall Street Editors (MSE), where he had served as editor and partner. Walker brings his globally honed, comedy-forward craft to Union’s bicoastal team.
Walker arrives in New York following a steady rise through MSE, where he started as a runner in 2016, became assistant editor from 2016–2022, and advanced to editor in 2022. A BA (Hons) Modern Languages graduate of the University of Birmingham, Walker has earned a reputation for sharp, character-driven storytelling across comedy-led brand work and short-form narrative, along with VFX-heavy content.

“I’ve had the privilege of watching Chris evolve at every stage of his career, and his reel just keeps getting better,” said Partner and Managing Director, Caryn Maclean. ““His creative energy is truly contagious and aligns seamlessly with Union’s spirit — he’s a natural fit and an incredible addition to the team. Chris has always envisioned becoming a New Yorker, so when he made the decision to take that next step, we couldn’t have been more excited to welcome him.”
Among Walker’s standout projects are Netflix x Just Eat — “The Next Game is Served” (dir. Josh Cohen, prod. Jack Bradley), Papaya Global — “Small Balls, Big Game” (dir. Rob Leggatt, prod. Kobi Hoffman), and 7UP — “Mixology” (dir. Josh Cohen). His recent slate includes Fiverr — “Stuntman” (dir. Nick Kelly, prod. Kobi Hoffman), along with a growing list of current U.S. brand projects since going stateside.
Walker’s accolades include being named one of Televisual Magazine’s Top 10 Editors in London (Spring 2024) — the youngest editor on the list — along with honors for his dark-comedy short film Unprecedented Crimes, winner of Best Comedy Short Film at the London Short Film Festival.
“I’m obsessed with movies and film culture,” said Walker, tracing his start to travel footage and a DIY edit instinct. “After cutting my GoPro travel footage on iMovie, I knew this is what I wanted to do.” It was a spark that ultimately led to his first posthouse role and the fast climb that followed.
Walker attributes much of his momentum to a collaborative style that often places him on set, cutting live. “Shaping the story in real time changes the collaboration," he observed. "I can feel the rhythm of a performance, respond to what’s unfolding, and support the director and crew in the moment. That proximity has shaped my growth and the opportunities that have followed.”

Formally joining Union has been a long time in the making for Walker. “Union has, for so many years, been so welcoming and kind. And I just think they’re an amazing bunch of people,” he said. “I’ve been going into Union since 2017,” building ties across both coasts as his U.S. ambitions came into focus. The move to New York “has been a sprint finish to a marathon effort,” he said.
