Dessert Before Dinner Delivers Web-Slinging Spectacle for Hasbro and Marvel

The world of toy superhero storytelling just got a fun upgrade, as Hasbro and Marvel team up with Pittsburgh-based production company Dessert Before Dinner to launch a fun, new, live-action campaign for Spider-Man Real Webs Ultimate Web Blasters, a kid-powered toy line that brings the thrill of superhero action into your hand, giving you the ability to shoot webs or water.
Built with cinematic ambition and kid-first energy, the broadcast and social spots show kids role playing as Spider-Man with the new web blaster, inspiring big imaginations. The result? A whirlwind of web-slinging, villain-dodging mayhem that turns the backyard into a full-blown comic book battle.

Using super slow motion via high-speed cameras, the spots are all scaled to a kid’s point of view. Directed by Dessert Before Dinner's Andy Kelemen and shot by DP Ryan Kroboth, the campaign was produced in collaboration with Hasbro’s in-house creative team and Marvel’s brand partners. Together, the team crafted a spot that’s both high-energy and celebrates the joy of superhero roleplay plus the power of imagination.

“The toys are super tactile,” says director Andy Kelemen. “So the kids really inspired a lot of shots on set based on how they were role playing in real time. Plus, the Thwip of the webs happens so fast, the super slow mo accentuated the toy features."
With the Real Webs Ultimate Web Blaster, Hasbro continues its tradition of storytelling through its products, and Dessert Before Dinner proves that toy commercials can be fun and playful.
