Drake Cooper, the 100% employee-owned independent agency headquartered in Boise, ID, with an office in Los Angeles, has acquired Gigasavvy, a leading Orange County-based award-winning ad agency with a particular focus on consumer and lifestyle brands. Founded in 2008, Gigasavvy is the go-to creative partner for a select group of brands, including HI-CHEW, Toshiba, AAA, Flexfit, and one of America’s most sought after burger brands.

Gigasavvy’s team joins Drake Cooper, with former President Kyle Johnston stepping into the role of Executive Director, Integration at the combined agency. The Gigasavvy brand will be absorbed into Drake Cooper, with the merged company continuing to staff an Orange County office. This adds to Drake Cooper’s currently established Los Angeles-based team. The agency will operate under the Drake Cooper name.

Both independent advertising agencies are coming together by choice, with a natural culture fit and an expanded geographic footprint. Gigasavvy brings to the table a tradition of innovative design and creative for top-shelf consumer brands. Drake Cooper brings full-service advertising capabilities, including creative, analytics, martech, interactive, media strategy, planning, and buying.

“Anyone who has been through an acquisition knows that success starts with culture,” said Mindy Stomp, CEO, Drake Cooper. “From our earliest conversations with Gigasavvy, it was clear that our organizations share the same values, mindset, and commitment to doing great work for our clients and our people. By coming together, we're not only strengthening that culture, we're also expanding Drake Cooper's presence in Southern California and creating a larger independent agency with broader capabilities, deeper talent, and greater opportunities for our clients and employee-owners.”

“Amazing things can happen when good, talented people share common goals,” said Johnston. “Combining teams and processes can be a risky business, but the chemistry and shared values between our two teams was apparent very early on, and I expect that to continue as the broader teams begin to integrate. This partnership creates exciting opportunities for our clients to tap into broader expertise and for our people to grow inside of a larger organization. The future is bright at Drake Cooper!”
