Ethos Studio Welcomes Colourist Ryan Urzi to Its Expanding Roster

Boutique color house Ethos Studio is proud to welcome Ryan Urzi to its roster of award-winning talent—a colorist whose evocative, emotionally-driven work has made him a stand-out in commercial filmmaking.

Rooted in a lifelong passion for the visual arts, Ryan’s approach to color is as intentional as it is intuitive—guided by a storyteller’s sensitivity and a deep understanding of emotional tone. His work is marked by rich, textural depth and cinematic precision, giving each frame an unforgettable visual signature. Informed by his background in production, Ryan brings a holistic understanding of the creative process—one that helps him support a director’s vision from the inside out. As a California native, Criterion Channel subscriber, and avid fixed-gear cyclist, Ryan draws inspiration from beyond the traditional canon and lends a fresh visual perspective to everything he touches.

Throughout his career, Ryan has lent his distinctive visual style to campaigns for internationally recognized brands like Adidas, Under Armour, Nike, Coach, NBA, and Audi, among others. He’s become a trusted and recurring collaborator with directors like Leigh Powis, Cole Borgstadt, and Chris Villa, as well as leading production houses like ProdCo, Psyop, and freenjoy. Ryan’s eye for tone, texture, and story continues to shape standout commercial work across genres and formats.

“Joining Ethos feels like finding the creative home I’ve been looking for,” says Ryan Urzi. “It’s more than just their dedication to craft—it’s the culture, the passion, and the way they champion color as an expressive art form. That mindset really sets them apart. I’m beyond excited to be part of the team and create meaningful work together.”

“Ryan’s got that rare eye for color—his work speaks for itself,” says Ethos Studio founder James Drew. “Every frame captures a distinct emotional tone, and we’re honored to have him on team Ethos.”
