Filmmaker AJ Bleyer Signs with Schofield’s Flowers for Exclusive Experiential Representation

Director/Photographer AJ Bleyer, who has become a trusted collaborator for many of the world’s most prestigious brands - Ferrari, McLaren F1, Aston Martin, Red Bull, Riot Games, and Amazon, among them - has signed with Schofield's Flowers  for exclusive representation in the experiential space. The formalization of the relationship between Bleyer and the multifaceted creative production outfit comes on the heels of a yearlong collaboration spanning short form branded films for SIXT Rent-The-Car (with F1 champion Nico Rosberg) and Goodnites (featuring Fmr. Astronaut & US Navy Captain Scott Kelly). Both projects were created at GUT Miami/New York.

“Whether he’s on set or on stage at TED or Adobe MAX, AJ has developed a knack for communicating big ideas clearly and visually,” said Steve Schofield, Founder/Chief Content Officer of Schofield’s Flowers. “Agencies are bringing him in on the pitch phase, not just to direct, but to help sell the creative. AJ is a perfect fit for Schofield’s Flowers - more than a production company, we’re an idea company.”

"I owe a lot to Schofield's Flowers,” Bleyer asserts. “Scof took a chance on me, and has put me in front of my heroes in science and sports. Now we're collaborating with agencies like GUT, and producing dynamic projects I’m really proud of.”

Not that he isn’t well-traveled on his own, having shot many launches with NASA and SpaceX and across many highly secure military installations. Added Scof, “AJ shoots in places you need clearance to even dream about.”

Combining his passion for cars and cameras, Bleyer began shooting automotive videos with his high school friends. His work caught the attention of local car dealerships. "I worked at the Apple store and did event work for fancy car brands on the side,” he recalled. “You learn to be nimble, work with natural lighting, be quick on your feet, and capture the present moment.” At 22, he founded Advent Films, and pursued filmmaking full-time. Despite rejection from every film school he’d applied to, Bleyer was accepted into the DGA as one of the Guild’s youngest directors at age 27. When he’s not shooting or driving cars, Bleyer is a sought-after industry speaker, having delivered a TEDx talk and keynotes at major events like Adobe MAX and NAB. He also serves as a brand ambassador for companies including RED, Adobe, Fujinon, and Dell Technologies.

As Bleyer sees it, he has three areas of expertise. “One is experiential,” he said. “Number Two is action-packed content. I've shot race cars at 200mph, jumped out of airplanes, big pyrotechnics and even filmed in zero gravity. Pretty much anything that freaks my parents out.” Number Three is AI. "If you’re open to the latest tools, you're always going to be relevant. As soon as I saw what AI was capable of, I dove in and began mastering the tools," Bleyer said. At the same time, he observed, “The growth of AI is going to lead to an explosion of experiential content. As it becomes easier to generate any/all kinds of visuals, I believe people will begin to place more value on in-person experiences. The one thing you can’t synthesize."
