Love Song Adds Director Louis McCourt

Love Song Adds Director Louis McCourt

Award-winning production company Love Song is proud to welcome director Louis McCourt to its extraordinary roster of talent. This partnership is an exciting moment for Love Song’s growing presence in the UK and marks McCourt’s first official representation.

His path to filmmaking began with a single email to Daniel Wolfe after seeing Wolfe’s Catch Me Daddy—and a steady stream of follow-up emails over the subsequent 18 months. That persistence led to his first industry role as Wolfe’s assistant, launching a seven-year collaboration that laid the foundation for his directing career. Working closely with Wolfe, McCourt was promoted from image researcher to assistant director and then co-director. During this time, he developed a distinctive approach to street casting and directing real people, capturing moments that feel intimate and alive. His films pair these raw performances with striking, story-driven imagery, creating films that are as emotionally resonant as they are cinematic.

McCourt’s body of work spans acclaimed commercial and narrative projects. With fellow Love Song directors Will Dohrn, Bafic, Elliott Power, Justyna Obasi, and Daniel Wolfe, McCourt was part of the directing team that directed Channel 4’s idents in 2023, with the mesmerizing interstitials winning the Grand Prix at CICLOPE and many other accolades. He also co-directed “Clock Off” and “One” with Daniel Wolfe as part of EE’s rebranding campaign, later directing “Battle Stations” for the EE Games Store solo. He received a Cannes Gold YDA Award for directing “Life Delivered” for Ocado through Uncommon Creative Studio. McCourt’s short film “No Faces” was recognized on the YDA shortlist that same year. Most recently, McCourt directed the heartwarming holiday spot “Feel It All” for O2.

Love Song Co-Founder Daniel Wolfe adds, “I'm really happy that Louis is directing at Love Song, he's a rare talent. His knowledge of cinema, storytelling and most of all human emotion is like none other. He makes me care about the characters, he makes me care about the worlds. He creates films so immersive and believable; they're human, they're emotional. Without being sentimental—they’re honest, really honest. Could not be prouder to have him on the Love Song roster. Watch out.”

“This partnership was a natural progression, one that I do not take for granted,” remarks McCourt on signing with Love Song. “Daniel Wolfe has mentored me since I was a runner who knew nothing about the industry, to now being a director, and it’s something I’m incredibly grateful for. Working so closely with him, Kelly, and Shirley [O’Connor] for the past few years, I’ve seen firsthand what a nurturing quality Love Song has. They’re the best of the best, and I’m elated to join the ranks of their directorial roster.”
