Steve Beebe of Quarter Mile Films Receives Emmy Nominations for TV Series "The Fixers"

Ojai filmmakers Steve Beebe and his wife, Briana Beukenkamp Beebe, of Quarter Mile Films have earned three Daytime Emmy nominations for Season Four of the hit global series, The Fixers. Recognized in the categories of Outstanding Multiple Camera Editing, Outstanding Instructional and How-To Program, and Daytime Personality – Non-Daily, the show follows a team of expert builders as they travel to remote communities in need, partnering with nonprofits to complete life-changing projects in under a week.

Available to stream on BYUtv, The Fixers takes viewers to places like Bangladesh where the team built a mobile school giving disadvantaged children access to education and Jamaica where they constructed a culinary workshop for the deaf community. Produced by BCII in Los Angeles, BYUtv gives the Beebes and The Fixers team significant creative freedom to craft stories that inspire viewers to “be better people.”
“I’m honored to be part of a team that’s making a difference in people’s lives,” shares Steve, Director of The Fixers. “To have the heart and soul we put into The Fixers recognized this way means a lot. My hope is that it helps more people discover the show and inspires them to make a difference in their own communities.”
Steve has been telling stories in the “build” television niche for decades, driven by a mission to spotlight compassion, craftsmanship and the people who often work behind the scenes. His career began on TLC and the Discovery Channel, with automotive-focused programs like Rides, Overhaulin’ and other hands-on build shows. In 1997, he founded Quarter Mile Films, a boutique editorial house, which has delivered more than 2,500 hours of broadcast programming for the likes of Discovery Networks, A&E, History Channel, HGTV, ESPN, National Geographic, Travel Channel, and TLC. Quarter Mile Films is currently wrapping post for Season Five of The Fixers.
Over the past 25 years, Briana Beukenkamp Beebe, the show's Supervising Story Producer, has worn nearly every hat in the industry; CFO, Post-Production Supervisor, Editor and now, Storyteller. She plays an important role in shaping The Fixers, helping to identify the nonprofit projects the team takes on and vetting organizations in need. The couple travels the world together for the series, bringing powerful, under-told stories to audiences at home.

The Beebes have called Ojai their home since 2000, quietly producing award-winning television from their hometown while raising their family. They hope recognition for The Fixers will not only shine a light on the causes they champion but also connect them with the local community as fellow creatives looking to make a difference. Looking ahead, Steve is currently in production on a feature documentary about actor and humanitarian Gary Sinise.
