Shiny Awards Brings New Director Showcase to NYC
Shiny has announced its first USA & Canada Showcase, celebrating the best new work from emerging and diverse directors and creators across North America. The screening will be hosted at Wieden+Kennedy’s New York offices, 150 Varick Street, on Wednesday, November 19. Doors open at 6 pm and the screening kicks off at 6:30.
The program will screen over a dozen short films and runs approximately 30 minutes. The films chosen were handpicked by Shiny and W+K's New York-based creatives and producers. Entries for the showcase are being accepted through Nov. 9; more information on submitting work to be considered for the showcase can be found here. “Shiny champions new and underrepresented creative talent worldwide, and at least 70 percent of the work screened will have been from directors and creators from under-represented demographics,” explains Shiny founder Caroline Bottomley. Launched in the UK and based in London, Shiny now conducts quarterly Awards screenings at leading ad agencies in the UK capital. “We’re welcoming the New York advertising and production communities to join us for an inspiring evening of fresh ideas, bold storytelling, and the next generation of creative voices,” Bottomley adds.
