True Gent Sends Filmmaker Dominique Nieves to Commercial Directing Bootcamp
Commercial Directing Film School and True Gent reaffirmed their commitment to DEI in commercial filmmaking by announcing writer/director Dominique Nieves as recipient of the Filmmaker Diversity Award. The award provides full tuition to Commercial Directing Bootcamp on January 24th in Los Angeles.
“Dominique brings a strong creative voice and a purpose-driven approach to filmmaking. We’re proud to offer her the tools and hopefully open the door as she transitions into commercial directing,” said Jordan Brady, filmmaker/founder of both outfits. “DEI is still very much alive for us; it’s part of how better stories get told. Opening access strengthens the industry,” Brady added. “Dominique is a filmmaker we need behind the camera.”

Dominique Nieves is a Nuyorican writer-director and founder of Iron Glove Productions, an independent production company creating art with impact. Her work includes the Telly Award-winning Our Lady Lupe, produced with PBS for Our Latino Experience, along with recognition from Cinequest, HollyShorts, and more. She is passionate about representation both on-screen and behind the camera — and now brings that commitment into branded storytelling.
“Breaking into commercial directing can feel like a catch-22 without existing access, so I’ve been creating my own opportunities. Film gave me a way to reach people, but commercials reach millions daily — and I want to use that power to tell socially conscious brand stories that make an impact.”
Bootcamp alumni have gone on to direct major campaigns, sign with production companies and build sustainable careers.
