UNDERRATED Signs Zen Sekizawa for Exclusive Representation

Fully integrated production company UNDERRATED welcomes Zen Sekizawa to its robust roster. Zen has been working as a photographer, director and artist for over two decades in her hometown of Los Angeles. She is second generation Angeleno and fourth generation Japanese American.

After decades of working in fashion, advertising lifestyle, and music, she decided to dive into the studio and apply my esthetics and technical skills to product and still life work. She strives to bridge the gap between commercial and fine art by creating thoughtful and unexpected narratives. She excels in working with a variety of products, textures, and materials, using light, color, and composition to craft these magical worlds.

Zen Sekizawa's clients include Apple, Vans, Jimmy Choo, Modelo, Playboy, Sony, The New Yorker, T-Mobile and WIRED. She has just begun work on a feature length documentary on the subject of The Atomic Cafe, her family’s legendary punk rock institution.
