Racket Club Welcomes Michael Frick as Executive Producer and Music Supervisor, West Coast

The best music decisions happen before anyone starts looking for music – that's always been Racket Club's philosophy. Now, the company is bringing in one of the industry's most respected music leaders to help take it even further.

Based in Los Angeles, Michael Frick will lead Racket Club's West Coast presence while helping expand the company's music supervision, licensing, artist partnerships, and creative music offering.

Over the past two decades, Frick has built a career where music, advertising, and culture intersect. After co-founding Mophonics, he helped pioneer a more integrated approach to music for brands, championing artists early in their careers and creating work that moved beyond traditional licensing. He signed Mark Foster before Foster the People existed, contributed to Apple's earliest music initiatives, and has since helped shape campaigns for Google, DoorDash, QuickBooks, and more.

His experience extends far beyond the creative. Frick has spent years navigating the business side of music, working across licensing, publishing, talent agreements, intellectual property, and business affairs, with trusted relationships spanning artists, labels, publishers, managers, and music attorneys alike.

"Racket Club was built around a philosophy I've believed in my entire career, that the best music for picture happens when musicians are part of the creative conversation from the very beginning," says Frick. "The foundation is already here. My goal is to build on it, bringing new opportunities, new relationships, and another level of creative partnership to our clients and the incredible team that's already in place."

"Michael brings an extraordinary combination of experience, instinct, and genuine love for music," says Justin Hori, Partner and Creative Director at Racket Club, "He champions artists, solves creative challenges, and makes everyone around him better. At his core, he's a music fan first, and that passion is exactly what makes him such a great fit for Racket Club."

“Michael lives and breathes music,” adds Nick Crane, Co-Founder and Creative Director. “He understands every side of this business. From creative, to legal, to business affairs, and that’s incredibly rare. He gives our partners the confidence that the music they’re falling in love with can make it to the finish line. His perspective and enthusiasm will elevate not only our team, but the way our clients think about music from the very start.”

Frick’s arrival is more than a new hire. It’s a reflection of where Racquet Club is headed: bringing music into the creative process earlier, giving teams the confidence to make stronger creative decisions, and creating the kind of collaborative environment where the best ideas, and the people behind them, can thrive. Whether the answer is original music or licensing, bringing creative strategy and business affairs together from the start helps simplify the process, so creative teams can stay focused on the work.
